Untold Story Travel has launched its first carbon-neutral travel itinerary to Sri Lanka, offering advisors a new sustainable option for clients interested in environmentally responsible luxury experiences. The 14-day journey, titled Renew, combines high-end accommodations with a reduced environmental impact through science-backed carbon scoring, electric vehicle transportation, and cultural experiences that support local communities.

Sri Lanka Adventure by the Numbers

For clients concerned about their environmental footprint, this itinerary provides the statistics. The journey generates just 701.18 kg CO2e for two guests, a 51 percent reduction compared to standard Sri Lanka itineraries of similar length. These measurements are verified using both local Sri Lankan environmental data and globally recognized DEFRA standards, giving travel advisors credible sustainability metrics to present to environmentally conscious travelers.

The program features accommodations that have been explicitly selected for their sustainability practices, including Galkadawala Forest Lodge, Ellerton Bungalow, and CEU Ceylon. During their journey, travelers will prepare meals with women from Habarana, hike the Pekoe Trail and participate in an almsgiving ceremony with forest-dwelling monks—activities that create meaningful connections with residents.

The conservation focus extends throughout the journey. Clients will travel exclusively in electric vehicles during their stay, participate in tree-planting sessions and enjoy turtle-watching experiences in Rekawa. Every element of the itinerary has been evaluated across multiple sustainability categories, including food sourcing, waste management, water use and community benefits.

This Sri Lanka trip is the first of several planned carbon-neutral journeys from Untold Story Travel.
