Today, MSC Cruises released intel on its brand-new kids’ entertainment debuting onboard MSC Grandiosa, which launches this November.

With the launch of the new ship, MSC Cruises is introducing three new activities for kids—MSC Dance Crew, The Drone Academy and Spy Mission; there will also be a new web series targeted for teenagers.

“The growing number of teens sailing with us, 13-17 year olds, now make up 40 percent of our young guests,” says Matteo Mancini, MSC Cruises’ children’s entertainment manager. “This has driven our development of exciting new teen-focused entertainment activities and a new web series dedicated to teens. We are delighted to launch MSC Dance Crew, Spy Mission and The Drone Academy on board MSC Grandiosa later this year, and announce that filming is underway for ‘Cabin 12006’—our new teens web series coming online early next year.

The MSC Dance Crew was developed in partnership with Fremantle, the production company behind TV talent shows including Idols, The X Factor and the Got Talent series. This new competition experience will see teams of 12-17 year old cruisers as they battle it out to win the title of dance crew of the year.

Alongside the London-based immersive agency The Department, who specializes in creating theatrical and technology-driven productions for global brands, MSC Cruises is introducing The Drone Academy, which will take place in MSC Gradiosa’s Sportsplex venue. This high-tech,, high-energy drone relay race comes to live at night with fluo effects and glowing drones. Teens are trained on piloting skills before competing in teams to race through the 4,197 sq. ft. arena as they navigate 15 obstacles in the quickest time possible.

Spy Mission, also created with The Department, is geared for younger audiences as they participate in a spy experience as they’re led through various scenes taking place throughout the ship to unravel unique storylines as they follow clues to solve the mystery. Winners will win various MSC Cruises prizes.

After the success of Kelly & Kloe Onboard, MSC Cruises kid’s web series, the cruise line is now introducing a new web series for teens—”Cabin 12006.” the seven-episode series follows teen Markus as he embarks on his first cruise, but his vacation doesn’t go to plan and turns into an adventure. Meanwhile, two young guys aspiring of a careen onboard a cruise ship come aboard for an internship and unintentionally get mixed in the tale due to an unexpected love story.
