Hyatt’s lifestyle brand, Andaz, has embarked on an endeavor that brings to life what it defines as “culturally rooted travel, one that celebrates and supports local creative talent, and invites guests to see the world through a fresh, imaginative lens”—and it’s happening through Crafting New Perspectives, a blend of culinary events, art installations and elevated hospitality held around the world. The program is in collaboration with Roadbook, a digital platform that takes travelers on global journeys with unique perspectives.

Arizona’s Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows was the first host of this extraordinary series. Recommend was there for an exquisite, al fresco dinner at its Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen, served on plates and dishes handmade by Siberian-born ceramist Rika Kova, who also crafted the candlesticks and stools that anchored the table at each end.
Local writers, artists and influencers conversed about art, life and travel, while savoring a menu curated by Executive Chef SammyD. Among the dishes were hamachi crudo and braised beef short rib with pan-roasted scallops, topped off with a unique take on bananas foster served with liquid nitrogen ice cream.
Andaz is showcasing Kova’s collection in the resort lobby through Dec. 8, 2025. Guests will find that her desert palette and organic shapes invite touch, bringing the Sonoran Desert up close and personal, refining and deepening the sense of place already offered by Andaz.
Crafting New Perspectives will continue in three other destinations: Andaz Savannah (now through Dec. 15, 2025) with artist Trish Anderson; Andaz Bangkok (Feb. 11 – March 11, 2026) with collage artist Nakrob Moonmanas; and Andaz Lisbon (Spring 2026), artist TBD.
