UnCruise Adventures recently announced its first emergence into summer island cruising with the addition of six departures in July and August 2019. The weeklong small ship cruises will set sail roundtrip from Moloka’i and explore Lana’i, the Big Island of Hawai’i, plus make visits to the sea turtle-rich waters off West Maui.

UnCruise Adventures’ 36-guest Safari Explorer has operated Hawaii cruises from November through April since 2011. A new weeklong summer itinerary visits four islands with included activities such as kayaking, hiking, swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding, wildlife searches and skiff excursions that help guests explore land and sea along the way. Cultural heritage is also a key component of the UnCruise experience in the Hawaiian Islands.

“We’ve had our eye on operating in Hawaii during the summer, and with current demand, the time is right,” said UnCruise Adventures’ owner and CEO Dan Blanchard in press materials. “Hawaii is a popular vacation destination all year, and now summer travelers can take advantage of the convenience of traveling between islands by yacht.”

The new Aloha Hawaii Adventure Cruise sails roundtrip from Moloka’i, one of the lesser visited islands. A local Halawa Valley family with ancient Hawaiian lineage will invite guests to their home share stories about island lore and to learn how to make poi from taro root. This stop will also include a guided hike to a waterfall and an evening pa’ina feast in town so travelers can experience a true Hawaiian celebration with traditional local cuisine, music and dancing.

On the island of Lana’i, travelers will hike to Sweetheart Rock and visit the Lana’i Culture and Heritage Center. Snorkeling off of West Maui at a turtle cleaning station will allow guests to swim with green sea turtles and other colorful fish, while an evening snorkel in Honomalino Bay draws Giant Pacific Manta rays up close in a feeding area. Guests can also expect to kayak through lava tubes off the Big Island of Hawai’i, stroll through historic Kailua, and more. While onboard, UnCruise guests will be treated to fresh meals prepared using produce and meat sourced on Moloka’i, along with sustainable seafood sourced from local fishermen at the Honolulu fish market.

Rates for summer Hawaii sailings start at $5,195 pp dbl, including all meals, beverages (including alcohol), adventure activities, and transfers on the day of the cruise. Port taxes and fees are additional, and bookings confirmed prior to March 29 receive a $600 per couple Aloha savings.
