It’s been a busy week for Silversea Cruises. Not only has it added expedition ship Silver Endeavour to its 11-strong fleet, but the cruise company also has launched an exclusive pre-sale on its Controtempo World Cruise for 2025. The pre-sale is open to all Venetian Society members and 2022, 2023 & 2024 past cruisers. Sales open to the general public on Aug. 2, 2022.

Silver Endeavour

Silversea Cruises has purchased the 200-passenger luxury expedition ship Crystal Endeavour that was formerly part of Crystal Cruises’ fleet, and has renamed it Silver Endeavour as a “testament to one of history’s most famous vessels” and to “honor the spirit of expedition travel,” said Barbara Muckermann, Silversea Cruises’ chief commercial officer, in a press release.

The PC6 polar-class Silver Endeavour is due to enter service in November 2022 and replace Silver Explorer from its 2022/2023 Antarctica season, including the Antarctica Bridge voyages. “The expedition cruising industry is poised to resume accelerated growth, driven by demand among high-end, affluent customers for travel to remote and hard-to-access destinations,” said the cruise operator’s president and CEO Roberto Martinoli. “Silver Endeavour will strengthen our polar offering, further diversifying our broad-ranging product.”

Royal Caribbean Group, which owns Silversea Cruises, will protect the deposits of guests who had originally booked on Crystal Endeavor by booking them on a new journey with Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises or Silversea Cruises. In a Silversea press statement, the company said: “To the extent the Crystal Endeavor guests do not receive their deposits back from Crystal or other sources, the Royal Caribbean Group will refund any amount paid on their new booking up to the amount of their lost deposits from Crystal.”
