Update: Celestyal has canceled all April 2026 departures as its ships wait to reposition to Athens, Greece. The line’s fleet is currently positioned in the Arabian Gulf, with Celestyal Discovery in Dubai, UAE, and Celestyal Journey in Doha, Qatar. All guests and non-operational crew have been disembarked, while both vessels remain fully operational; their departure from the region will take place in accordance with safety guidance from the relevant authorities.
The next planned departures are:
• Celestyal Discovery – May 1, 2026 (3-night Iconic Greek Islands)
• Celestyal Journey – May 2, 2026 (7-night Heavenly Greece, Italy and Croatia)
Celestyal has announced additional cancellations to its Mediterranean cruise schedule, citing ongoing regional conditions that continue to affect operations. The company said it has made the “difficult decision” after monitoring the situation closely with relevant authorities.
Celestyal: Delays—With Options
The cruise line confirmed that repositioning voyages for both Celestyal Discovery and Celestyal Journey will be delayed ahead of their Mediterranean program. As a result, three upcoming sailings have been canceled: the 7-night Heavenly Greece, Italy and Croatia itinerary on April 4 aboard Celestyal Journey; the 14-night Mediterranean Icons cruise on April 4 aboard the same vessel; and the 4-night Iconic Greek Islands sailing on April 6 aboard Celestyal Discovery.
According to a company statement, guests on affected departures will have the option of a full refund or a future cruise credit to apply toward another sailing. Impacted travelers are being directed to contact their original booking source for assistance with these options. The line reiterated its appreciation for guests and partners for their “patience and understanding” as it navigates the evolving situation.
Celestyal said it remains focused on resuming its planned Mediterranean program “as soon as possible.” In recent months, cruise lines operating in the region have been adjusting itineraries or delaying deployments due to ongoing instability in the Middle East, particularly in areas surrounding the Red Sea and Gulf. Heightened tensions have disrupted typical repositioning routes between Asia and the Mediterranean, with several travel companies temporarily changing course or holding ships in safer waters until conditions improve.
The company continues to monitor developments and has stated it will keep partners informed regarding future sailings and deployment updates.
