JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa is revving it up for the whole family with the addition of the Tidal Cove Waterpark, slated for completion next month. Tidal Cove will feature a 60-ft. tower with seven water slides, a 4,000-sq.-ft. kids pool with an aquatic play structure, and the first-ever FlowRider Triple surf simulation pool in the nation. The state-of-the-art outdoor recreation area will add five acres of pool deck to the resort.
The water slide tower will feature the Constrictor, a 558-ft. slide for one to two riders on rafts; Master Blaster, a 486-ft. slide for one to two riders on rafts; Boomerango, a 377-ft. slide for two to four riders on rafts; Whizzard, a 266-ft. two-slide single rider mat racer slide; and two Aqua Drop body slides, 348 ft. and 286 ft., respectively.
These new water amenities will connect with existing facilities that include a zero-entry pool and a Lazy River that winds through a peaceful one-eighth mile of tropical foliage inspired by the local South Florida surroundings. There are also 25 private luxury cabanas for relaxation, two private event lawns with 15,000 and 12,000 sq. ft., respectively, and a new retail store. One of two new dining facilities, Surf House Bar & Grill, will be introduced as an elegant 2-story open-air restaurant and bar with seating for 142. Surf House will offer elevated dishes like lobster roll tacos, crab and avocado toast, and steamed mussels. The second new restaurant, Freestyle, will serve as a quick service food venue and is designed to meet family needs and round out the Tidal Cove food and beverage offerings with items like pizza and handmade gelato as signature menu items.
Tidal Cove is part of a multimillion-dollar renovation and expansion at JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa that includes the new luxury 16-story Orchid Tower and 325 spacious new guestrooms. The tower nearly doubles JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa’s overall capacity to 685 rooms and suites. Upgrades to the main lobby and building, front drive, and other key thoroughfares and resort facilities are also planned.
