Airlines are responding to client demand with enhanced air service options in 2025, from SAS bringing back dedicated Business Class cabins to European flights to Fiji Airways opening a new gateway to Queensland that bypasses Australia’s busier southern hubs.
SAS Upgrades Air Travel
Based on client demand for premium travel options, Scandinavian Airlines will reintroduce its European Business Class service on October 1. Travel advisors can book this offering beginning May 6 for all international European routes, including intra-Scandinavian flights.
“Many of our comfort- and quality-focused travelers expect a clearly defined European Business Class that aligns with international standards,” says Paul Verhagen, Chief Commercial Officer at SAS, in a press statement. “While SAS Plus has provided an upgraded experience, it has lacked the recognition and clarity that travelers seek. With the reintroduction of European Business Class, we are ensuring that SAS offers the premium experience of a top European airline.”
The reintroduced service clearly distinguishes premium travelers, with a dedicated front cabin section separated by curtains and overhead dividers. Clients will appreciate the blocked middle seats.
SAS will offer a refined dining concept featuring reusable porcelain tableware that replaces single-use items, reducing waste while incorporating locally-sourced ingredients and compostable materials instead of plastic products.
On the ground, Business Class passengers receive priority check-in, boarding privileges and expanded lounge access.

New Fiji Airways Route
Fiji Airways launched a direct route from Nadi to Cairns on April 10, allowing your clients to access the Great Barrier Reef faster. This new connection reduces travel time by nearly three hours for North American travelers compared to traditional Australian entry points.
Clients departing from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas-Fort Worth or Vancouver can now reach Tropical North Queensland via Fiji instead of routing through busier hubs like Sydney or Brisbane. The service operates three times weekly throughout the year, providing consistent access to Queensland’s natural attractions.
This route structure will allow travel advisors to create efficient dual-destination itineraries combining Fiji’s beaches with Australia’s coral ecosystems in one streamlined trip. Cairns serves as both the gateway to the reef and a practical base for clients interested in the ancient Daintree Rainforest, authentic Indigenous cultural experiences and access to Coral Sea islands.
