Velas for the Bride-to-Be
Mar del Cabo by Velas Resorts has introduced the Bride Tribe Getaway, a new experience that turns the traditional bachelorette celebration into a curated coastal retreat. Located along the Sea of Cortez, the 3-night itinerary blends group bonding with creative, culinary and wellness experiences while removing the need for detailed planning.
The program begins with a sunset picnic on arrival, featuring local cheeses and wines as guests settle into the resort’s beachfront setting. The second day combines creative activity and private dining. Groups participate in a Bikini Lab workshop to design custom bikinis and tote bags using selected fabrics, colors and decorative elements. That evening, the group works with the resort team to create a themed dinner, with a menu tailored by the chef—from contemporary Mexican dishes to coastal or Italian cuisine—served family-style and coordinated with the decor.
The third day balances relaxation and activity through the Move & Mimosas session, which includes a private yoga or Pilates class followed by brunch with mimosas. The final day allows for independent exploration, with time to enjoy Mar del Cabo’s pool, beach or nearby Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.
Groups can book either the Penthouse suites for up to six guests or 2-bedroom garden suites for larger parties of up to 10. The experience can be customized to include extras such as group spa sessions or a sunset cruise. Guests receive access to SE Spa at nearby Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos and Grand Velas Los Cabos, discounted transportation services and a complimentary welcome drink for the bride. Reservations are required at least 1 month before arrival.
At Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos, a separate new experience enhances wedding preparations with the GRWM (Get Ready With Me) Drink Cart. Offered as part of Velas Resorts’ pre-wedding portfolio, the mobile bar service visits suites shortly before ceremonies for an in-room celebration. Each couple works with a mixologist to craft a signature cocktail or mocktail that reflects their story or event theme. The cart, tailored to match the wedding decor, doubles as both a service station and photo opportunity.
The dedicated bartender team serves the chosen beverage alongside premium prosecco, champagne, tequila, or mezcal while guests prepare. The session, typically two hours before the ceremony, can be timed to accommodate hair and makeup schedules. Each guest receives a printed menu listing the signature drink as a keepsake.
