Grand Velas Los Cabos has expanded its wellness portfolio with new water-based fitness programming developed for your clients seeking structured, results-oriented exercise while on vacation. The program introduces five aquatic classes designed to strengthen the body, improve circulation and reduce stress through controlled, resistance-driven movement. A note your fitness-minded clients might enjoy: Studies show that aquatic workouts can increase calorie expenditure by up to 25 percent compared to conventional exercise. The buoyancy of water also reduces body weight load by about 90 percent, lowering impact while maintaining full resistance engagement.

The new Aquatic Fitness Collection encompasses five sessions:

  • Ocean-View Aqua Cycling (40 minutes) – Guests cycle on submerged stationary bikes designed for high-intensity, low-impact workouts. The water provides multidirectional resistance, improving cardiovascular endurance and muscle tone while minimizing joint strain. The setting faces the Sea of Cortez, combining the resistance of water with steady aerobic activity.
  • Signature Floating Mat Core Sculpt (35 minutes) – Conducted on individual floating mats, this class centers on balance and stability training. Participants engage core and lower-body muscles through interval routines that respond to the movement of water beneath the mat. The workout emphasizes coordination and balance, increasing overall functional strength.
  • High-Resistance Aqua Glutes & Power (40 minutes) – This session focuses on lower-body conditioning through resistance bands used in structured circuit intervals. Each set alternates 20-second activity bursts with 10-second rests, targeting hamstrings, glutes, and thighs while avoiding impact-related strain.
  • Floating Mat Pilates: Strength & Serenity (40 minutes) – Performed entirely on floating mats, this program merges Pilates technique with the support and instability of water. Controlled movements enhance posture, flexibility and deep core stabilization, resulting in a calm, low-impact training session.
  • Dynamic Aqua Core Stability (40 minutes) – An advanced session emphasizing controlled strength and balance. Movements focus on the abdominal and back muscles, using water resistance to build trunk stability, an essential component of daily activity and performance.
