The Scenic Eclipse made a splash when it debuted and opened the way for a whole new generation of luxury expedition vessels—now the Scenic Eclipse II, the brand’s second ultra-luxury yacht, is expected to set sail in April 2023.

Scenic Eclipse Makes History Again with Sister Ship’s Maiden Voyage

The Scenic Eclipse II’s maiden voyage will be the Incredible Iberian Discovery, which will have your happy clients traveling for 11 days from Lisbon to Barcelona. The best part? Earlybird offers are on the table for many of this cool craft’s sailings with savings of up to 20 percent.

The ship is still in the yard, but it’s on point for a 2023 delivery with numerous enhancements over the original Scenic Eclipse, which undoubtedly is no slouch in the next-level luxury department.

New and exciting for the Scenic Eclipse II is an expansion on the original ship’s fantastic Senses Spa, a bench-mark setting wellness space for an expedition ship. The new spa will have a larger steam room area to include aromatherapy, an integrated ice fountain and experience showers, and the introduction of a KLAFS custom salt therapy lounge with heated beds, enhanced with aromatherapy scents.

The state-of-the-art infrared KLAFS Infrared chairs on the first ship were a resounding success with guests—they relieve back pain and encourage muscle relaxation—so this has been expanded into a dedicated infrared “ocean view” lounge with color light therapy to energize and reinvigorate skin cells.

On Deck 10, there’s a new bar area with indoor-outdoor seating for checking out the views while cocktailing, plus a large pool with relaxation space—the perfect space for sail-away parties.

Apart from the onboard goodies, the Scenic Eclipse II will also have some delicious itineraries to whisk your clients off to make unforgettable memories. The maiden 11-day Incredible Iberian Discovery departs on April 13, 2023, then the discovery yacht moves to Exploring the High Arctic from Reykjavik to Copenhagen in August, followed by the Caribbean in October for the 9-day Caribbean Sunsets: Turks & Caicos Islands to Jamaica sailing that departs Nassau on the 23rd. Europe is next for the 9-day Scottish Isles: Historic Trails & Wilderness, departing on Sept. 13, 2023, from Edinburgh.

2024 marks the ship’s travels to Antarctica—which is where Scenic’s purpose-built expedition ships really show off. The focus is the 15-day Beyond the Antarctic Circle itinerary that departs roundtrip from Ushuaia (Argentina) in February. French Polynesia follows in March, with 13 days exploring the islands from Tahiti to Bora Bora to some of the Cook Islands to Fiji and beyond on the Reefs & Volcanic Isles: Tahiti to Fiji. In April, the ship heads Down Under on its 11-day Australia’s Top End: Cape York & Arnhem Land, charting the northern territories from Cairns to Darwin.

The Scenic Eclipse II follows its sister ship with spectacular suites for only 228 guests (200 in Polar regions), an almost 1:1 staff-to-guest ratio, private butler service, 10 dining options and truly all-inclusive travel.
