With the Venetian Lagoon closed to all but the smallest of cruise ships, Azamara is perfectly poised to return its four-ship fleet to La Serenissima. Starting April 3, 2023, the ships will stop at the Venetian Lagoon ports of Chioggia and Fusina as part of their 12-Night Best of the Med Voyage.

Azamara Proudly Marks Return to Venice

“Thanks to our longstanding relationship with the local officials and port authorities of Venice, we’re thrilled to not only bring our guests back to this historic canal city, but also to allow them to discover the wonders of neighboring towns such as Chioggia, which only smaller ships can visit,” said Mike Pawlus, Azamara’s director of strategic itinerary & destination planning, in a press statement. “We look forward to once again immersing our guests in the rich local culture and amazing historical sites that the destination has to offer.”

And not only does Azamara give your clients easy access to the heart of Venice, but the company has also prepared a series of shore excursions that will immerse them in the culture, history and local life of Venice. These include a romantic gondola ride in the evening accompanied by a local singer and accordionist; a motorboat cruise to the neighboring islands of Murano and Burano for a tour of the iconic glass-blowing factories and a demo of local lace-making; and a guided walking tour with a local expert that will take them to the church of Saint Rocco and one of the oldest squares in Venice, Campo San Polo. The longer itineraries will also give your clients a chance to sample the local wines and finger food at the many bacari (bars) that have sprung up along the central canal and explore the city on their own.

Upcoming sailings include the 7-Night Italy Intensive Voyage, with late nights in Ravenna, Kotor and Amalfi, plus an overnight stay in Rome; and the 7-Night Amalfi & Dalmatian Coasts Voyage, which allows your clients to dive deeper into these beautiful coasts and has four late stays, including Sorrento, Kotor, Dubrovnik and Sibenik, plus an overnight in Venice.
