Emerald Cruises has opened pre-bookings for its 2027 European river cruise season, thanks to growing interest in river cruising experiences that blend cultural immersion with luxury travel.

“Travelers are booking further out and seeking fresh ways to experience Europe with comfort and style,” said Ken Muskat, President of Scenic Group, USA/LATAM, in a press statement. “The debut of Emerald Lumi on the Seine, alongside our expanded 2027 river program, reflects Emerald’s modern approach to river cruising: luxury ships, included comforts, and more freedom to explore.”

Emerald Cruises’ Scenic Collection

The 2027 collection includes several of Europe’s most scenic waterways, including the Seine and Rhone in France, Portugal’s Douro Valley, the Moselle Valley and the Rhine-Main-Danube corridor. Cruises will operate from February through December, allowing your clients to experience Europe’s diverse seasonal landscapes, from spring blossoms along the Rhine to winter festivities on the Danube.

March 2027 will see the introduction of Emerald Lumi, a new vessel designed for Seine River cruises. This ship will offer the brand’s first-ever round-trip itineraries from Paris. Additionally, Emerald Astra, set to debut in May 2026, will expand the cruise line’s capacity across the Douro, Rhine, Main and Danube rivers.

Flexibility is a key feature of the 2027 program. You can create extended journeys for your clients by linking multiple river cruises, adding land tours or combining river sailings with Emerald’s Mediterranean or Adriatic yacht cruises.

Among the highlighted itineraries is the 8-day Sensations of the Seine & Normandy cruise, which will sail round-trip from Paris on the new Emerald Lumi. This journey includes visits to Giverny, known for Monet’s gardens, the historic city of Rouen and the coastal town of Honfleur.

The Danube Delights cruise offers an 8-day exploration from Budapest to Munich, showcasing the baroque architecture and villages of Central Europe. For those interested in Germany’s renowned wine regions, the 11-day Rhine Castles & Moselle Vineyards itinerary travels from Zurich to Amsterdam, passing through scenic valleys dotted with medieval castles.

Emerald’s most comprehensive offering is the 15-day Splendours of Europe cruise, which traverses the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers from Amsterdam to Budapest. This extensive journey connects many of Europe’s most renowned cities and cultural landmarks.

The early release of 2027 itineraries also benefits group travel planners and those interested in full-ship charters.
