Princess Cruises is debuting MedallionNet Max, a new Wi-Fi service tier designed for your digitally connected clients. Starting August 31, this service will be available exclusively in Princess Plus and Princess Premier packages.

“Just like we did when we launched MedallionNet Classic almost seven years ago, Princess continues to ensure guests have access to highest performing connectivity available at industry-leading value,” said John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises, in a press statement. “By including MedallionNet Max in our incredible bundles we are guaranteeing the best possible onboard experience with the best value anywhere in the world as our guests explore over 330 destinations via our world-class globally deployed fleet.”

Since 2018, Princess has led the way in onboard Wi-Fi technology, incorporating various satellite constellations and ensuring Wi-Fi access points in every stateroom. The cruise line utilizes LEO (Starlink), MEO, GEO satellite constellations and 5G terrestrial networks across its fleet.

Princess Cruises Keeps Clients Connected

The new service structure includes two tiers: MedallionNet Classic and MedallionNet Max. MedallionNet Classic maintains the current service level, while MedallionNet Max offers prioritized access to high-performance bandwidth, typically Starlink.

MedallionNet Classic‘s a la carte pricing remains $24.99 per day for a single device and $44.99 per day for multiple devices. As indicated on the Princess app, the appropriate service level will be automatically assigned based on each guest’s package.

Princess Cruises has a history of advancing onboard connectivity. In 2018, the company set a new standard by achieving 2.25 Gbps aboard Regal Princess, significantly surpassing the industry average of 10-20 Mbps per ship at that time.

While MedallionNet Max will be exclusive to Princess Plus and Princess Premier bundles, guests opting for the standard Princess vacation package can still purchase MedallionNet Classic connectivity at current prices.

The inclusive Princess Plus and Princess Premier packages offer additional amenities such as beverages, casual dining, desserts, complimentary room service, fitness classes and crew gratuities, providing up to 65 percent savings compared to purchasing these amenities separately.
