Princess Cruises Expands Western Med Itineraries Aboard Sun Princess

Princess Cruises has announced enhanced itineraries for its newest ship, Sun Princess, sailing the Western Mediterranean in 2026 and 2027. The line will offer 16 seven-day cruises between April 4 and October 17, 2026, featuring new ports of call and an overnight stay in La Spezia, Italy.

The updated itineraries aboard the Sun Princess add Palma de Mallorca, Spain and Ajaccio, Corsica, while replacing Gibraltar. Guests will also enjoy a special two-day experience in La Spezia, allowing deeper exploration of Florence, Pisa and Tuscany.

Sun Princess Itinerary Highlights

  • Corsica (Ajaccio), France – Excursions include Bonaparte Maison, the leader’s childhood home and A Cupulatta Tortoise Sanctuary, which protects more than 180 species of tortoises and turtles.

  • Genoa, Italy (for Cinque Terre) – Excursions showcase the colorful cliffside villages of Cinque Terre, or travelers can explore Genoa’s historic architecture and culinary traditions.

  • Marseille, France (for Provence) – From France’s oldest city, guests can discover Aix-en-Provence, climb to the Basilica Notre-Dame de la Garde or explore Provence’s cultural treasures.

  • Palma de Mallorca, Spain – Travelers can ride a century-old train through the Tramuntana Mountains, visit Valldemossa or enjoy wine tastings in Santa Maria del Camí. Excursions include Mallorca Uncorked, Best of Palma de Mallorca and Vintage Train, Ancient Oil Mill & Tasting.

  • Ibiza, Spain – Beyond its beaches, Ibiza offers UNESCO-listed Dalt Vila, village tours and a culinary experience at Can Curreu. Options include Dalt Vila Walking Tour, Highlights of North Ibiza and A Taste of Ibiza.

  • Santa Margherita/Portofino, Italy – Guests can hike to Portofino, explore Camogli and San Fruttuoso, or take part in foodie experiences such as olive oil tastings and pesto-making classes.

  • La Spezia, Italy (overnight stay) – Select voyages include extra time to explore Florence, Pisa and the Tuscan countryside at a more relaxed pace.
