Explora Journeys keeps upping the ante on luxury travel with their Ocean Penthouses and Ocean Residences, part of their Homes at Sea concept, which will debut on Explora I in July of this year, the first of six ships that will comprise their luxury fleet. This is the third suite category release for the brand, which unveiled the design for its entry-level Ocean Suites last year. As with the Ocean Suites, these new categories continue Explora Journeys’ commitment to sustainability.
“Environmental respect and sustainability have been key in design choices, ensuring a balance between the tactile and visual experience of every material used,” said Jason Gelineau, head of product of Explora Journeys. “Eco-friendly details such as refillable bathroom amenities have also been weaved into the suite offering, and where feasible, we are sourcing sustainable products, including B Corp-certified items. We will also have a no single-use plastic policy on board.”
A Look At Explora Journey’s Newest Suites
Explora I’s Ocean Penthouses and Ocean Residences are the largest in the industry—463 to 732 sq. ft. and 753 to 1604 sq. ft., respectively—and, like every other suite onboard, are oceanfront. Upgraded European-designed furnishings, original artwork, Frette linens and every upgraded amenity available are part of the experience throughout all Explora I’s staterooms, as is the welcome bottle of chilled Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage 2015 in Ocean Penthouses and Dom Pérignon Vintage 2013 in Ocean Residences. (Ocean Suites guests aren’t left behind: they get a chilled bottle of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label to toast their departure.)
The four Ocean Penthouses boast floor-to-ceiling windows for gorgeous views, a private dining area and a large lounge where your clients can relax and/or entertain fellow travelers. They are outfitted with a walk-in closet, heated bathroom floors, a personalized mini-bar, 24-hour white glove service and much more.
The jaw-dropping Ocean Residences pay homage to their name with separate living, dining and sleeping areas and have extraordinary upgrades like Calacatta Macchia Vecchia marble in the bathrooms of Cocoon, Serenity and Retreat Residences. There are four different residences for your demanding clients to choose from: Cocoon, Cove, Retreat and Serenity. The Cocoon and Serenity Residences have wrap-around terraces; Cocoon, Serenity and Retreat Residences have a separate bathtub and a walk-in shower. All have their own 24-hour team of Residence Hosts, i.e., butler service.
