Intrepid Travel has integrated Urban Adventures (UA), its city tour brand in the U.S., into its North American DMC operations. This move concludes a 15-year collaboration with WeVenture and marks a significant expansion for Intrepid in the American market.

Intrepid now operates the largest DMC for its customers worldwide in North America, with 75 percent of UA travelers coming from the U.S. The company is set to host over 40,000 UA travelers across the country in 2025. When combined with overseas visitors and Wildland Trekking adventures, Intrepid will welcome a total of 55,000 U.S.-based travelers this year.

“Urban Adventures is a cornerstone of Intrepid’s mission to connect travelers with the heart of local communities,” said Matt Berna, Senior Vice President for North America, in a press statment. “This isn’t just about running tours—it’s about reshaping how Americans experience their own backyard. We’re creating deeper connections, amplifying local stories, and giving back to the communities that make these cities so special.”
“Our trips aren’t just local stories—they’re a bite size taste of our travel style: immersive, sustainable, and unforgettable,” added Berna.

Intrepid and UA

“Urban Adventures represents everything Intrepid stands for: connection, curiosity, and community,” said Amanda Neiman, Operations Director, in a press statement. “With this expansion, we’re making local experiences even more meaningful and accessible for travelers across the U.S.”

UA tours are available in eight major U.S. cities: Boston, Chicago, Denver, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, Seattle and Washington DC. These tours are led by local guides with deep connections to their cities, consistently receiving positive customer feedback. There are a variety of notable experiences to their clients.

In New Orleans, travelers can explore the French Quarter and visit local jazz clubs. Seattle offers a coffee culture tour led by local experts, while New York City provides a private Broadway night out and a food tour of NYC’s Tenements. In Boston, visitors can enjoy the Walking Food to Freedom Trail, offering a unique alternative to bus tours. Washington DC features a Mall & Monuments tour by electric car, providing a comprehensive view of the city’s landmarks.
