Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has expanded its footprint in Mexico with the opening of Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun, a five-star all-inclusive property located about 20 minutes from Cancun International Airport and close to Puerto Morelos. The resort began operations on Nov. 1; the company now manages 12 hotels totaling more than 4,400 rooms.

The beachfront resort features 444 suites, each equipped with a jacuzzi. Accommodation types include family rooms, oceanfront options and swim-up suites with access to semi-private pools. The property serves both couples and families, and offers easy access to the region’s attractions, including the Great Mayan Reef and the Route of the Cenotes.
Dining options include an international buffet, a wood-fired pizzeria and four specialty restaurants. L’Oliveto has Italian fare, Nopal focuses on Mexican cuisine, Martinete offers Spanish dishes and a Caribbean venue serves seafood and coastal recipes. Guests will also find six bars, including three swim-up bars, and a Star Cafe for coffee and snacks throughout the day.
The resort operates within Iberostar’s sustainability initiative, the Wave of Change movement, which promotes waste reduction, ocean protection and responsible sourcing. Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun eliminates single-use plastics in the guest experience and provides purified water stations across the property. Its seafood menus emphasize sustainability, and a 3R Team manages waste separation to help achieve the brand’s goal of sending zero waste to landfill.
