Expedition cruise company HX has launched a new portal for travel advisors as well as a new 1-hour online training program.

The portal—agentportal.travelhx.com—now exclusively dedicated to HX, offers a streamlined space for advisors to access updated brochures, marketing materials, one-pagers and webinars, including the newly launched HXplore series, to effectively sell HX’s expedition cruises.

The expedtion cruise company’s advisor portal will be used for HX booking creation, cruises and content (new and additional) and will display all active bookings.

“We’re focused on equipping our valued…advisors with the support they need to thrive in this growing sector and promote HX,” said Sheralyn Berry, General Manager, Americas, in a press release statement.

The 1-hour training includes four concise modules: Introduction to HX; Destinations; Sustainability, Science & Education; Life Onboard. The training, which features shorter content and interactive quizzes, is “designed to be engaging and allow advisors to deepen their understanding of HX’s unique offerings and destinations, enhancing their ability to sell HX expeditions,” according to press material.

Advisors will receive an OTT certificate and accreditation logo upon completion, and those who complete the training by the end of August will be entered into a drawing for a $150 gift card.

Additionally, HX’s new website—travelhx.com—features a refreshed design that reflects the brand’s new visual identity. The content is exclusively focused on HX, streamlining navigation for advisors and making it easier for them to navigate.

In early September, the expedition cruise company will upload a new suite of marketing materials and B2B assets to the portal, including selling guides, destination packs, and more.

New Tools, More Expedition Cruise Sales

Other HX trade initiatives include the monthly HXplore Webinar Series, with sessions that are designed to equip agents with the knowledge they need to effectively support their clients and sell HX. Led by Product Managers, frequent guests on the episodes include HX’s CEO; Chief Expedition Officer, Alex McNeil; and Dr. Verena Meraldi, the cruise industry’s first on-staff Chief Scientist; Expedition Leaders; and others. By November, 11 episodes covering a range of topics—from destinations to the expedition product—will be available. Upcoming webinars include Antarctica II (Aug 28); Galapagos II (Oct 1); Alaska (Oct 30); and Expedition Clients (Nov 27). All webinars are recorded and accessible through the agent portal. There’s also a new B2B Help Desk, which was introduced in May (operational from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. PST Monday to Friday); agents can contact the new Help Desk at (866) 312-6791. Additionally, HX has increased commissions to 25 percent on all Galapagos bookings through December 31, 2024 for sailings scheduled from now through December 31, 2025.
