Celestyal is expanding its Greece deployment with the first call of the 1,260-guest Celestyal Journey to Agios Nikolaos, Crete, marking a new port addition to the cruise line’s 7-night Idyllic Greece itinerary.
The inaugural call took place on May 12, 2026, replacing Heraklion as the ship’s Crete port of call. The vessel will visit Agios Nikolaos numerous times throughout the 2026 Mediterranean season, which runs through November. Local officials and destination representatives welcomed the ship on arrival, joining Captain Angelos Vasilakos and the onboard team for the inaugural visit.
New Port of Call Expands Celestyal’s Med Sailings
Agios Nikolaos, located on Crete’s northeastern coast in the Lassithi region, is emerging as an alternative cruise port in the Eastern Mediterranean. The destination is near Lake Voulismeni and offers access to cultural sites, waterfront promenades and inland excursions across Crete.
“Agios Nikolaos has a growing role as a cruise destination and is a fantastic addition to our Idyllic Greece itinerary. It perfectly reflects the type of call our guests are increasingly looking for, combining iconic Mediterranean hotspots with rising star ports that offer a more authentic experience,” said Lee Haslett, Chief Commercial Officer at Celestyal, in a media statement.
The 7-night Idyllic Greece itinerary sails round-trip from Athens and includes calls in Kusadasi, Rhodes, Agios Nikolaos, Santorini, Mykonos and Milos. The company says the limited-time offer is designed to encourage early bookings, with pricing expected to increase closer to departure dates.
Celestyal also highlights its flexible booking policies and 24/7 onboard guest support under its “Sail with Confidence” approach.
