Brazilian airline Azul Linhas Aereas will begin operating a new nonstop flight on Dec. 9 that will run between Fort Lauderdale and Curaçao; the new service on board an Airbus A320neo will have four weekly flights.

Last June, Azul initiated the route between Belo Horizonte and Curaçao with a frequency of one flight per week. In less than a year, this increased to two flights per week, and now the number of flights will again double, reaching a total of four weekly flights.

Cesar Grandolfo, Institutional Relations Manager at Azul, said, in a press release statement, that the increase is the result of strong demand: “Curaçao is already a highly desired vacation destination; it is an island with a pleasant climate and can be visited at any time of the year. Now, we will additionally include a connection to the flight, allowing, for example, tourists to visit Curaçao and then go shopping in Fort Lauderdale using the same ticket.”

Brazilian Airlines Says, ‘Hello, Fort Lauderdale’

The full routing for the flights is Belo Horizonte-Curaçao-Fort Lauderdale, with flights available for purchase via Azul’s website.

Azul, Brazil’s largest international airline by the number of cities it serves, is one of Brazil’s three major airlines, along with GOL and LATAM Brasil. Additionally, the airline has a codeshare agreement with Silver Airways, which allows customers to buy tickets for Silver Airways flights in the United States through Azul’s sales channels.
