Advisors, mark your calendars for Grenada’s two signature summer events that showcase the island’s rich cultural identity and provide exceptional booking opportunities.

Sultry Summer Fun in Grenada

The Grenada Chocolate Festival returns May 22-27, 2025, offering your clients a first-hand exploration of the island’s thriving cocoa industry. This 6-day celebration transforms the Spice Island into a haven for chocolate enthusiasts with authentic tree-to-bar experiences across Grenada’s fertile landscape. Visitors participate in guided tours of organic cocoa plantations nestled within lush rainforests and engage with local farmers and chocolatiers passionate about sustainable production methods.

The festival features distinctive activities, including rum and chocolate pairings, chocolate-infused culinary events, and hands-on workshops where participants create their own chocolate confections. The program includes unique offerings for wellness-focused clients such as chocolate and chakra sound healing sessions and cocoa-infused yoga experiences.

True Blue Bay Boutique Resort is the festival’s accommodation partner, offering special discounts for attendees when booked directly. The property’s central location provides convenient access to festival events while delivering authentic Grenadian hospitality.

Later in the summer, Grenada’s premier cultural celebration takes center stage with Spicemas running Aug. 6-13, 2025. This lively carnival draws visitors from across the globe with its distinctive blend of music, costume and traditional performances. The highlight for many travelers is J’ouvert, known locally as “Jab Jab,” where participants covered in oil and paint dance through streets at dawn accompanied by soca rhythms.

The week-long festival includes monarch competitions and cultural performances and culminates with Pretty Mas, a spectacular parade of elaborate costumes through St. George’s. Monday Night Mas offers another distinctive experience as participants put on their illuminated accessories while dancing through the streets after dark.

Travel advisors can construct comprehensive Grenada itineraries by combining either festival with the island’s natural attractions. Beyond event participation, clients can explore underwater sculpture parks, pristine beaches, historical sites and rum distilleries.

Of note: Advance planning is essential as accommodations near festival venues typically fill quickly, particularly beachfront properties during Spicemas season.
