American Cruise Lines Launches “Celebrating 250 Years of America” Campaign

American Cruise Lines has unveiled its Celebrating 250 Years of America campaign, a fleetwide initiative that will run across all 2026 departures to commemorate the nation’s Semiquincentennial.

The yearlong program will be integrated throughout the company’s U.S. river cruises and small-ship coastal itineraries, which collectively explore domestic waterways in 35 states—from Alaska to Florida—and call at more than 160 U.S. ports.

American Cruise Lines has also developed a line of collectible Semiquincentennial pins and keepsake gifts for guests sailing during the anniversary year.

History-Focused Enrichment at Sea

Onboard programming will include curated 250th-themed entertainment, such as a 250th-inspired game show, daily U.S. history trivia announcements and Red, White & Blue-themed cocktail receptions and desserts.

The line has created a special American 250 signature cocktail menu, featuring drinks such as The Spirit of 1776, along with patriotic videos and ceremonies honoring U.S. veterans. The cruise line has also developed collectible Semiquincentennial pins and keepsake gifts for guests sailing during the anniversary year.

Enhanced Shore Excursions

Shore excursions will be tied to local Semiquincentennial celebrations in key destinations. Several of the company’s regular ports, including New York City, Boston, Baltimore and Norfolk, are hosting Sail 250 maritime events throughout the year.

Meanwhile, museums and historical institutions nationwide are planning 250th-related exhibitions, from large-scale displays at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., to regional showcases such as those at the Wrangell Museum in Alaska.

Holiday Voyages Highlight the Milestone

Over the Fourth of July, Americans’ small ships will sail amid fireworks displays and patriotic events in multiple destinations. Guests on the line’s flagship 52-Day Great United States Cruise will have the opportunity to experience fireworks over Boston Harbor, a site closely associated with the events leading to the American Revolution and the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
