Airlines are upgrading their premium cabins, adding new routes and offering new perks. Read on for a roundup of what’s news with carriers.
Alaska Airlines Expands Global Reach
Alaska Airlines is broadening its international presence with a new daily nonstop service to Reykjavik, Iceland, set to launch on May 28, 2026. The Reykjavik service will feature complimentary Wi-Fi, a perk exclusive to this route.
Alaska is also rolling out fleet-wide enhancements: First Class dining is getting a makeover with new, Pacific Northwest-inspired serveware and an expanded menu featuring locally sourced ingredients. Premium Class passengers will enjoy a new snack basket on flights over 670 miles starting in December.
The airline is also refreshing its 737 interiors with updated seats, carpets and device holders. More Premium Class seating will be available on select aircraft models, and power outlets will be conveniently placed. Of note: Alaska’s loyalty program is evolving into Atmos Rewards, which will offer more benefits, including complimentary Wi-Fi on select flights by 2027.
With new routes to London, Seoul, Tokyo and Rome, Alaska Airlines is rapidly expanding its global network.

JetBlue: New Routes and Increased Services
JetBlue is expanding its route map, enhancing its presence in key leisure markets and strengthening its focus on Boston and New York. The airline is introducing service to Vero Beach, Florida, for the first time and returning to Daytona Beach, offering more options for popular coastal destinations.
Starting December 2025, JetBlue will connect both Boston Logan International Airport and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Vero Beach and Daytona Beach.
The expansion extends beyond Florida, with new routes linking Tampa to Punta Cana and Fort Lauderdale to Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic. Long Island MacArthur Airport will see increased connectivity to Florida with new services to Tampa and Fort Myers.
JetBlue is also bolstering its international presence from Boston. The airline will offer daily flights to St. Thomas, Liberia (Costa Rica), St. Maarten, and Nassau (Bahamas) this winter. Additionally, it’s increasing service to Grand Cayman and Bridgetown (Barbados) with second Saturday flights during the season.
By December, the airline will provide nearly double the seats between Boston and Florida and almost four times as many flights to Latin America and the Caribbean compared to its closest competitor.

United Airlines Boosts Winter Schedule
United Airlines is ramping up its winter schedule, adding flights to 15 cities and introducing new routes starting Jan. 6, 2026. The expansion focuses on popular warm-weather destinations, including increased service to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Las Vegas.
The airline is adding one additional daily round-trip flight on several routes, connecting major hubs such as Houston, Chicago, Newark/New York and Los Angeles to key destinations. Houston will see increased flights to Orlando, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Atlanta, Baltimore and Miami. Chicago gains extra service to Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, New Orleans and Las Vegas. Newark/New York adds flights to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, while Los Angeles increases its service to Las Vegas.
Two new routes are being introduced from Newark/New York to Columbia, South Carolina and Chattanooga, Tennessee. United is also expanding its Central American network with three new weekly flights from Houston to Guatemala City and San Salvador, as well as one new weekly flight to San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
To support these additions, United is increasing flight frequencies between Houston, Chicago and Los Angeles. The airline will also deploy larger aircraft on the Chicago to New York LaGuardia route to facilitate connections.

Frontier Airlines Expands Route Network and Enhances Services
Frontier Airlines is set to launch 22 new routes in late 2025, expanding its service across the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America. The expansion includes the airline’s first flights to Providenciales, Turks and Caicos and a return to Nassau, The Bahamas.
The new routes, starting in November and December, will connect major U.S. cities, such as Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth and Chicago, to various domestic and international destinations, including Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico.
Frontier is offering early access to its 2026-2027 GoWild! All-You-Can-Fly Annual Pass, allowing new passholders to begin unlimited travel immediately when purchased by Sept. 5. The standard travel period runs from May 2026 through April 2027, offering an additional eight months of unlimited flights.
The airline has introduced significant product enhancements, including UpFront Plus seating, which offers extra legroom and a guaranteed empty middle seat in the first two rows. Frontier’s most loyal customers now enjoy unlimited companion travel with the flexibility to choose different companions for each flight.
In late 2025, Frontier plans to introduce First Class seating, offering a combination of comfort and space at an affordable price. The airline continues to innovate its FRONTIER Miles program, allowing members to earn miles quickly based on the dollars they spend. Elite status is attainable after 10,000 miles and offers perks such as priority boarding and complimentary bags, depending on the status level.

Delta Expands Boston’s European Gateway, adds Louisville Flights
Delta Airlines is bolstering Boston’s position as a global hub with new European routes and enhanced services. Starting May 16, 2026, the airline will launch daily nonstop flights to Madrid, followed by thrice-weekly service to Nice beginning May 17. These additions bring Delta’s European destinations from Boston to 12.
The airline is also increasing its presence in existing markets. Daily flights to Barcelona will commence on May 7, while four-times-weekly service to Milan begins May 16. Both routes are starting earlier than in previous years to align with seasonal demand.
These expansions reflect Delta’s significant growth in Boston over two decades, with destinations increasing from 25 to approximately 70. In partnership with other carriers, Delta now connects Boston to four continents with around 20 daily international flights.
To enhance the travel experience, Delta has opened a new Delta One Lounge at Logan Airport, spanning 6,700 square feet. The expanded Delta Sky Club, covering nearly 21,000 square feet, has been recognized among USA Today’s top 10 airport lounges.
The new European routes will be serviced by Airbus A330-900neo aircraft, featuring Delta One® lie-flat seats and amenities across four product categories. All passengers can enjoy curated dining, Delta Studio entertainment and SkyMiles members have access to complimentary Wi-Fi.
Delta has also expanded Louisville (SDF) service for the 2026 Kentucky Derby; the increased flight schedule not only facilitates easier access for race-goers but also supports Louisville’s tourism industry during its busiest season. The airline is adding service from 10 U.S. cities, including new flights from Austin and Raleigh-Durham. In total, Delta is adding over 3,000 seats and over 60 flights to and from Louisville for the 2026 Kentucky Derby.
