United Airlines is scaling up its flight routes from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), announcing plans to operate up to 750 daily departures during summer 2026—the largest schedule ever flown by a single airline at the airport and roughly 200 more daily flights than its nearest competitor, according to the airline.
Throughout 2026, United will offer nonstop service to 222 destinations from Chicago, including 175 domestic routes and 47 international cities across Europe, Asia and South America. A major focus of the expansion is improved connectivity between Chicago and small- and midsize Midwest communities.
Beginning in late April and early May, United will launch five new regional routes, each operated four times daily:
- Champaign/Urbana, Illinois (CMI) – April 30
- Kalamazoo, Michigan (AZO) – April 30
- Lansing, Michigan (LAN) – May 7
- La Crosse, Wisconsin (LSE) – May 7
- Bloomington/Normal, Illinois (BMI) – May 7
In addition, United previously confirmed new summer service from Chicago to destinations such as Santa Barbara and Monterey, California; Eugene, Oregon; Erie, Pennsylvania; and Rochester, Minnesota.
More than 80 existing markets will also see increased frequencies, including key business and leisure routes to Boston, Nashville, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Dallas. The airline will also operate daily service to Guadalajara, Mexico, from June 8–27, aligning with major international soccer events—giving United nonstop access from Chicago to all 16 host cities tied to the 2026 FIFA tournament.
