UnCruise Adventures is expanding its Aleutian Islands itinerary for 2028, more than doubling capacity as demand for the destination grows.
The small-ship cruise line will move its Aleutian Islands Adventure with Dutch Harbor & Kodiak itinerary from the 36-guest Safari Explorer to the 74-guest Wilderness Explorer. The ship will operate eight 10-night voyages between Seward and Dutch Harbor, Alaska, from June 2 through Aug. 15, 2028, sailing in both directions.
The itinerary offers clients an opportunity to explore a less-visited side of Alaska, with stops and excursions in Kenai Fjords National Park, Katmai National Park, Ugashik National Wildlife Refuge, Aniakchak National Monument, the Shumagin Islands and Akutan Village.
The expedition experience includes opportunities to see tidewater glaciers and ice-filled inlets, while kayaking and skiff excursions provide access to remote shorelines and wildlife-viewing areas. Guests may spot seals, puffins, sea otters, brown bears and eagles, depending on conditions.
Hiking, nature walks, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and skiff excursions are included in the cruise fare, along with all meals. The ship’s expedition team will lead the adventure activities and excursions.
Early Booking Savings
UnCruise has opened bookings for the 2028 departures and is offering an early booking incentive. Travelers who book by Oct. 31, 2026, can save $350 per person on any 2028 Aleutian Islands departure.
The Wilderness Explorer is currently undergoing renovations in Seattle, including steel work and updates to the galley, lounge, bar and dining room, as well as other refurbishments.
Designed for expedition cruising, the ship features a kayak and skiff launch platform and carries an experienced team of expedition guides.
