Tourism New Zealand and Avanti Destinations have launched a new campaign to drive independent travel to New Zealand, anchored by a limited-time booking contest for travel advisors and a savings incentive for repeat FIT clients.

Running through April 30, 2026, the advisor promotion rewards the top three sellers based on total New Zealand bookings, each with a minimum of three hotel nights. Prizes include gift cards valued at $300, $150 and $50.

The campaign also includes a repeat traveler offer designed to encourage higher-value bookings. Clients who have spent at least $3,000 on land services with Avanti in the past 12 months are eligible to receive $150 off a New Zealand booking of three or more hotel nights, provided the reservation is made by April 30, 2026, for travel through December 31, 2026.

FIT Focus and Product Offering

Avanti currently offers four core vacation packages, access to 99 hotels ranging from three- to five-star and 166 tours and experiences across 16 destinations. Among the top-selling options is the 14-day “New Zealand Discovery” itinerary, a self-drive program covering both the North and South islands.

The package includes stays in Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown and Franz Josef, along with transportation components such as car rentals, ferry crossings and scenic rail journeys.

Included experiences range from a guided visit to the Waitomo Caves and a Māori cultural evening to a private tour of the national museum, Te Papa and a Milford Sound cruise. Additional 8-, 9- and 10-day itineraries are also available.

Key Destinations Driving Demand

The campaign highlights a range of destinations across New Zealand, from urban hubs such as Auckland—known for its coastal setting and dining scene—to cultural and geothermal areas like Rotorua. Other featured destinations include Waiheke Island, Queenstown, Franz Josef Glacier and the Otago Peninsula, each offering a mix of outdoor, cultural and wildlife experiences.

Advisor Tools and Booking Support

To support bookings, advisors can access a dedicated South Pacific microsite featuring package details, highlighted experiences and real-time pricing tools. The platform allows users to generate instant quotes based on hotel category, travel dates and trip duration, while additional training resources, including recorded webinars, are also available.
