SeaWorld Orlando has officially announced that its highly anticipated Arctic attraction, Expedition Odyssey, will open to the public on May 1, 2025. This immersive Arctic experience combines cutting-edge technology, real-world wildlife encounters and custom-shot footage from remote Arctic locations to deliver a unique indoor adventure for guests.
The new attraction blends a dynamic motion simulation with high-definition visuals and live animal elements. Guests will journey through glaciers, across the tundra and into the icy depths of the Arctic Ocean, coming face-to-face with polar bears, orcas, beluga whales, walruses and more along the way.
An Arctic Adventure in Florida
“We are pleased to announce the opening date of Expedition Odyssey, an adventure unlike anything our guests have experienced before, combining thrilling, immersive storytelling with powerful, real-world animal connections. The newest addition to our park is unlike anything we have ever done before and brings to life the wonder of the Arctic in a way only SeaWorld can do,” said Jon Peterson, Park President of SeaWorld Orlando, in a press statement.
The ride’s advanced motion system allows for an unprecedented range of fluid movement, enhancing the sensation of diving, gliding and soaring across vast Arctic landscapes. Expedition Odyssey is designed to be a family-friendly thrill ride suitable for younger visitors as well as adults.
Following the ride, guests will have the opportunity to continue their Arctic journey with real animal encounters in a newly designed habitat. Featured among the wildlife is Uki, an orphaned Pacific walrus calf rescued in Alaska and now cared for by SeaWorld’s team of animal experts. Uki will make her debut at SeaWorld Orlando as part of the Expedition Odyssey exhibit.
For guests seeking an even closer connection, SeaWorld offers behind-the-scenes tours, such as the Beluga Whales Up-Close Tour, providing poolside access and educational insights into Arctic marine life and conservation.
SeaWorld Annual Pass Members will be among the first to ride Expedition Odyssey with early access opportunities.
