Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa in Paradise Valley, Arizona, has returned to independent ownership, and the change comes with a multi-year capital investment plan that will transform all 110 guestrooms and casitas starting in summer 2027, followed by culinary and spa enhancements in 2028.

Hart+Howerton, a design firm specializing in master planning, architecture, landscape architecture and interior design, is serving as architect and designer of record for the renovation. Work on the guestrooms and casitas is scheduled for completion by September 2027. The following culinary phase covers the resort’s food and beverage outlets and Sanctuary Spa with a target completion in 2028.
The property sits on 53 acres against Camelback Mountain and opened in the 1950s as a Tennis Ranch Club before its transformation into a luxury resort. Sanctuary Spa includes twelve indoor and outdoor treatment rooms offering Asian-inspired treatments and bodywork alongside a rotating wellness calendar with guided drawing meditations, sound journeys and matcha and mahjong weekends. The property also has tennis and pickleball courts with private clinics available and an infinity pool overlooking Camelback Mountain.
Dining options include Elements and the jade bar, which offer Asian-forward cuisine, mixology programs and interactive cooking classes. Of note: The resort’s meetings and events space recently underwent a $7 million renovation.
