Austin’s Driskill Hotel Set for Renovation

The Driskill Hotel—an 1886 landmark—is embarking on a multi-year restoration that will reimagine its guestrooms, dining venues, social spaces and introduce new amenities. The renovation will roll out in two phases and culminate with the property’s 140th anniversary in December 2026.

The first phase, debuting this fall, will introduce the renovated Driskill Bar and Driskill Grill—all overseen by Austin-based MML Hospitality. Travelers can also expect refreshed accommodations in the 110 Tower Guestrooms (dating back to 1929) and an updated fitness center.

The second phase, scheduled for completion in summer 2026, will focus on the historic core of the property—including the grand lobby, staircase and 74 original guestrooms. A new retail concept, Stark & Sisters, will also debut. Food and beverage will take center stage in the hotel’s latest chapter.

MML Hospitality will also oversee all culinary operations. Notably, Chef April Bloomfield—a James Beard Award winner known for her New York restaurants—will make her Southern debut at the reimagined Driskill Grill and Driskill Bar. Subtle updates are also planned for the 1886 Cafe & Bakery,

New Curio Collection Hotel Opens in Downtown Louisville

Mokara Hotel & Spa’s Guestroom Transformation

Mokara Hotel & Spa is embarking on a three-month guestroom and suite reimagination, timed for completion in October. The project marks a new chapter for the award-winning River Walk retreat.
