Princess Cruises Expands ‘North to Alaska’ Program with New Experiences

Princess Cruises is enhancing its North to Alaska program with four new signature experiences. The new programming will be available across all eight ships sailing in Alaska, including Star Princess, Discovery Princess and Coral Princess, among others.

First introduced in 2015, the North to Alaska program has become a cornerstone of Princess Cruises’ Alaska product, connecting guests to the region’s culture, cuisine and landscapes through onboard enrichment, local partnerships and immersive shore experiences.

New Signature Experiences for 2026

The Glacier Experience: A Signature Princess Day is designed to elevate scenic cruising in places like Glacier Bay National Park. The experience offers close-up glacier viewing paired with real-time expert narration, including commentary from National Park Rangers both on deck and from the bridge.

Guests can access exclusive bow viewing areas—dubbed The Icefront Opens—for unobstructed perspectives, while onboard activations range from educational presentations and Ranger-led talks to interactive Junior and Teen Ranger programs.

Another new addition, Welcome to Alaska, serves as a must-attend orientation early in the voyage. Hosted by the Cruise Director, the session introduces guests to naturalists and enrichment speakers while offering insider tips on how to make the most of their time in Alaska.

For a more social, lifestyle-driven experience, Apres Sea brings a sophisticated, apres-ski-inspired concept on board. Designed as a post-excursion unwind, the offering features elevated beverages and panoramic views in a relaxed lounge setting. On Star Princess, the experience will take place in The Dome, a top-deck venue offering sweeping vistas of Alaska’s landscapes.

Rounding out the new programming is the Candlelight Concert Series: Fire & Ice, an Alaska-inspired extension of Princess’s existing concert series. Offered twice per voyage, the experience features performances by local singer-songwriters in an intimate, candlelit setting that blends live music with the natural beauty of the destination.
