Florida’s Gulf Coast is gearing up for its seasonal traditions, one of which is scalloping season, returning July 1, and Paddletail Waterfront Lodge, A Trademark Collection by Wyndham, is inviting travelers to turn the experience into a full waterfront getaway.
Available through Sept. 24, 2026, the lodge’s seasonal Scalloping Package combines guided excursions on Crystal River with two-night accommodations and a chef-driven “cook-your-catch” dining experience.
A Gulf Coast Experience for Summer Travelers
The package includes a guided scalloping excursion led by local captains, snorkel gear and mesh collection bags, along with a welcome amenity kit featuring scalloping tips and recipes. After a day on the water, guests return to the lodge for a dockside culinary experience featuring their fresh catch prepared by the property’s culinary team.
Guests collect their scallops before returning to shore, where they can either clean their catch or have it prepared for an additional fee. The final step takes place at the lodge’s waterfront Tiki Bar, where chefs transform the harvest into a freshly prepared meal served with seasonal sides and views of the water.
Paddletail Waterfront Lodge enhances accessibility for boating guests with on-site slips, a boat ramp and overnight trailer parking for a small fee. To preserve the local ecosystem and ensure the long-term sustainability of the experience, guests are encouraged to follow Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission harvesting guidelines and avoid discarding scallop shells back into the bay.
