Just in time for family summer vacation, SeaWorld Orlando has debuted its first-of-its-kind virtual reality roller coaster, Kraken Unleashed. The immersive experience takes riders on an exploratory journey under the sea. As they sail along the coaster track, complete with deep dives, steep turns and seven complete inversions, a story unfolds surrounding the mythological giant sea creature Kraken.
All three of the ride’s 32-passenger trains have been equipped with the virtual reality experience. Guests choose their journey when they board the coaster; either the virtual reality experience or riding the traditional way. In addition, each seat has also been individually programmed to provide an individual guest experience.
This summer, guests can also check out Electric Ocean, the SeaWorld Orlando’s all-new evening extravaganza, which kicked off June 17. During the show, guests are transported to a world of light and sound complete with fantastical dancers, glowing sea creatures and music. The entire event crescendos into a nightly display of fireworks. There’s also a new bubble spectacular show, Pop, and the return of fan favorites Shamu’s Celebration: Light up the Night and Sea Lions Tonite. For more information, visit seaworld.com/orlando.
