On May 27, the highly anticipated Pandora – The World of Avatar will open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida. Inspired by the “Avatar” movie, the new 12-acre land will immerse guests in the lush world of Pandora, complete with floating mountains, soaring banshees and an iconic nighttime jungle filled with bioluminescent flora. The land will also feature two, never-before-experienced expeditions, including Avatar Flight of Passage, where guests embark on a Na’vi rite of passage soaring across Pandora through jungles and over majestic oceans aboard a winged banshee; and the family-friendly Na’vi River Journey, where guests sail down a sacred river hidden within a glowing rainforest on a voyage to encounter a Na’vi shaman. After they work up an appetite, guests can grab a bite to eat at Satu’li Canteen or a get drink at Pongu Pongu. The Windtraders shop will offer souvenirs, such as Na’vi cultural items, toys, science kits, and more.
At night, the immersive landscape is especially captivating when it comes to life with that familiar Avatar glow. Tickets to Disney’s Animal Kingdom start at $97 per adult; $99 per child (ages 3-9) for a 1-day ticket. For more information, visit disneyworld.disney.go.com/destinations/animal-kingdom.
