Amidst the stunning setting of Baja California’s Wine Country, there’s a lovely new health and wellness resort opening its doors wide open this month: Montevalle Health & Wellness Resort. Sprinkled with immense boulders, olive trees and lavender fields, the 10-acre property caters to guests looking to boost their health.

Located in Guadalupe Valley, this tranquil, adults-only, 14-villa resort—with six more to come—features a reflexology path, meditation labyrinth, heated pool and jacuzzi, spa, gym, tennis court, and a detox and wellness program.

“I wanted to create a place where people could escape the noise of the city for one day or several days, have contact with nature, and be able to stimulate their immune system and detoxify through a variety of treatments,” said Dr. Carlos Bautista, the resort’s owner and operator, in a press release statement. According to press material, Bautista has devoted his medical career to research and practice with natural and holistic therapies.

Poolside at the resort.

Montevalle offers a range of plans: the One Day Plan consists of a health consultation, two intravenous infusions of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, a massage, treatments (ranging from biomagnetic therapy to laser therapy), full access to services and activities, and two meals, while the Superior Plan includes accommodation, health consultation, a daily massage, two intravenous infusions, full access to services and activities, and three meals daily. For those looking to up the ante, the Optimal Plan provides complete detoxification and restoration for those seeking a more robust retreat, featuring a total treatment program with Dr. Bautista’s custom-designed therapies. And when in Rome…there’s even a wine therapy that uses grapes from the property’s proprietary vineyard, to relax and stimulate the immune system.
