Two new Melia Hotels International properties will be making their debut in Mexico—ME by Melia will open in Guadalajara—the second ME by Melia in the country—while the Gran Melia brand will open its first hotel in Mexico in a prime location in Rivera Nayarit.

After the success of ME Cabo, the second ME by Melia hotel in Mexico, with its Guadalajara location, will be the brand’s first city hotel in the country. Expected to open in 2023, ME Guadalajara will offer 150 rooms and suites, as well as a sky pool and a rooftop area. In line with other ME hotels worldwide, the hotel will also offer a wide range of dining experiences.

The Gran Melia property in Rivera Nayarit, meanwhile, will provide 180 rooms and suites, in addition to an array high-end amenities.

“The addition of these two new hotels is a major boost to the international growth of our luxury brands, which we will continue to grow in key destinations worldwide,” said Gabriel Escarrer, executive v.p. and CEO of Melia Hotels International, in a press release statement. “The debut of the Gran Melia brand in a country with potential for luxury hotels such as Mexico, is a significant milestone, and I am positive that it will be a resounding success.”

The two new hotels will add to the seven hotels already in operation and another three in the process of opening in the Melia Hotels International portfolio in Mexico. Specifically, the Gran Melia Hotels & Resorts brand continues its international growth and will soon be making its debut in another five countries with seven hotels, adding to the six countries and 15 hotels currently in its portfolio.
