Alila Mayakoba, the first hotel in Latin America and the Caribbean for Hyatt’s Alila brand, is set to open in early 2026.
The hotel is located in Mexico’s Riviera Maya and offers 182 guest rooms, suites and villas located over 60 acres of mangroves and freshwater canals. The suite design highlights locally sourced woods and Merida limestone with interiors curated by regional artisans. Many suites boast interior gardens, spa-inspired bathrooms and private plunge pools that blend indoors and out.
Wellness experiences will include sunrise cacao rituals on the beach and temazcal ceremonies led by local healers. The reimagined spa will feature open-air hydrotherapy circuits, meditation gardens and cenote-inspired spaces. Activities for guests will include tortilla-making workshops, chef-led market tours, beekeeping in nearby villages and lagoon-side paddle meditations.
The hotel’s culinary program is rooted in the Maya culture’s restorative approach to food, emphasizing garden-to-table cuisine, coastal seafood traditions and artisanal spirits. In addition to a signature restaurant and lobby lounge, the new beach club will host live music and chef-led fire-roasted fish feasts by the shore, a Chef’s Atelier and more.
The resort’s sustainability strategy aligns with EarthCheck principles and champions circular hospitality such as reef restoration dives guided by marine biologists, zero-waste cooking classes and curated retail featuring locally woven textiles and artisan-crafted wellness goods.
Reservations are now live for stays starting Feb. 12, 2026.
