Kensington Expeditions, part of Kensington’s Ultraluxe division, has launched a new women-only expedition series across Mongolia, led by expedition leader Megan Hine. The program runs in fall 2026 across three separate legs—Northern Taiga, Altai Mountains and Gobi Desert—each priced from $14,000 per person.
“This expedition is about creating the space for women to discover what they can do when they step into an environment that is unfamiliar, challenging and completely real,” said Neal Bateman, Head of Kensington Expeditions, in a press statement. “Mongolia provides an extraordinary setting for that kind of experience, and Megan is an exceptional leader. This is not about arriving as an experienced adventurer. It is about arriving with curiosity, resilience and a willingness to take on something new.”
Experience Kensington’s Mongolia
The three legs run from Sept. 30 through Nov. 4, 2026, and travelers can book one, two or all three phases. The itinerary includes time in the Northern Taiga with the Tsaatan, or Dukha, reindeer-herding community; an attempted ascent of Friendship Peak in the Altai Mountains with Kazakh eagle hunters; and a Gobi Desert crossing to meet Bactrian camel-herding families and climb the Khongoryn Els Singing Dunes.
No previous expedition experience, 4×4 driving skills or athletic background is required. Participants learn off-road driving, vehicle recovery, navigation, campcraft, teamwork and problem-solving in remote settings as part of a trip structured as a participatory expedition rather than a guided tour.
Hine has more than 20 years of experience leading expeditions for National Geographic, Netflix, Amazon and the BBC. “Mongolia is the kind of place that asks something of you,” said Hine in a press statement. “This expedition is about bringing together women who are curious enough to say yes to something they may never have imagined themselves doing. They don’t need to arrive knowing how to drive off-road, navigate wilderness or live on expedition. We’ll teach them. What matters is their willingness to learn, support one another and see what becomes possible when they move beyond the familiar.”
The trip will be filmed for a documentary series, with lodging ranging from the Shangri-La Ulaanbaatar to traditional gers. Pricing includes expedition leadership, guides, 4×4 vehicles, meals and safety planning; airfare, insurance and visas are not included. Hine is also scheduled to lead trips through Peru in spring 2027 and Argentina, the latter open to men and women.
