Hilton has reached a milestone in Canada, with more than 200 hotels now open nationwide and an additional 100-plus properties in the development pipeline. Recent openings include Hotel Vallea Bromont, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Home2 Suites by Hilton in Ontario, and Spark by Hilton Toronto Mississauga.
“Surpassing 200 open hotels in Canada is a powerful testament to our momentum in the market,” said Matt Wehling, Senior Vice President, Development, U.S. and Canada, Hilton, in a media statement. “This success is fueled by the strong relationships we’ve built with our owners, supported by our regional, in-market expertise that reinforces our long-term development strategy and drives operational excellence at every stage.”
200 and Counting
Over the past decade, Hilton has nearly doubled its Canadian footprint. Focused-service brands such as Hampton by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Tru by Hilton and Spark by Hilton have accounted for roughly half of that growth, with nearly 50 new properties added in the last 10 years.
Extended-stay brands have also gained momentum, with Homewood Suites by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton doubling their presence nationwide. In the lifestyle segment, new Tapestry Collection properties in Montreal, Bromont and Niagara Falls have joined openings such as Revery Toronto Downtown, Curio Collection by Hilton and Canada’s first Canopy by Hilton in Toronto.
Hilton plans to further diversify its portfolio with the debut of new brands in Canada, including the first Motto by Hilton in Montreal in 2028 and the first Tempo by Hilton in Toronto in 2029. More than 20 additional hotels across brands such as DoubleTree by Hilton, Hampton Inn by Hilton, Tru by Hilton, Home2 Suites by Hilton and Spark by Hilton are slated to open within the next year.
