Adults-only, all-inclusive Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos has added a slate of hands-on experiences built around the food, wine and healing traditions of Baja California Sur. The additions include wine and spirits tastings, cooking classes and spa rituals, all included in the resort’s nightly all-inclusive rate and featured in its weekly activities schedule. Luxe Los Cabos Experiences
The lineup includes a Mexican Spirits & Agave Tasting and a separate Tequila Journey, both centered on agave-based spirits such as tequila, mezcal, sotol and raicilla. Guests hear from family-owned distillers about production methods tied to specific Indigenous communities and regions. A new Art and Wine Experience pairs a San Jose del Cabo artist-led painting session, focused on scenes such as El Arco, with a sommelier-guided tasting of boutique wines from Valle de Guadalupe. A Mexican Wine and Cheese Pairing also draws on Valle de Guadalupe producers, matched with cheeses tied to regional ranching traditions.
Seafood-focused options include a Ceviche and Sauvignon Blanc Experience using locally sourced ceviche, and an Oysters and Bubbles Experience featuring oysters from Baja aquaculture farms. An Artisanal Chocolate Tasting covers the history of cacao in Mesoamerican trade and ceremony alongside chocolate made from Mexican-grown cacao, and a Salts of the World Tasting focuses on how mineral content affects flavor.
Two cooking classes round out the culinary offerings. The Salsa Mexican Cooking Class has guests prepare salsas using traditional volcanic stone molcajetes and ingredients including chiles, tomatoes and herbs. The Mole Mexican Cooking Class walks guests through preparing mole, a dish tied to Mexican celebrations and family gatherings, which they then eat with fresh tortillas and traditional accompaniments.
On the wellness side, a new Baja Tea Ceremony centers on Damiana and other native botanicals used in the peninsula’s Indigenous healing traditions. The resort also introduced a Before Bed Dry Spa Experience, an evening ritual featuring infrared therapy stations and relaxation lounges, paired with calming snacks and beverages designed to support sleep.
