Tauck has put into place a 4-year plan to double its small ship cruising capacity through fleet expansion, strengthened partnership programs and new itineraries. “Tauck Small Ship Cruising is our first product line to sell out each year,” said Jennifer Tombaugh, president of Tauck during a press conference at Seatrade. “By adding new destinations and expanding our capacity with Ponant, we’re able to provide more choices and more availability in order to better serve the current and growing demand.”

As part of an expanded partnership, Tauck will leverage all four of Ponant’s new luxury expedition yachts for 2018 and 2019, beginning with the Le Laperouse in summer 2018. The first Tauck sailing on Le Laperouse will be the 7-night Iceland: Land of Fire & Ice itinerary, departing roundtrip from Reykjavik on July 3, 2018. This sailing is almost sold out; however additional bookings are available for 2019.

In 2018, Tauck Small Ship Cruising will also feature a new 10-day journey throughout Cuba aboard Le Ponant. Departures are available Dec. 14, 23 and 28 for the sailings, which will make calls on Cuba’s coastal gems between Havana and Santiago de Cuba and feature a 2-night hotel stay in Havana complete with guided Tauck sightseeing.

In addition, Tauck is further expanding its 4-year partnership with BBC Earth next year by adding all Tauck Expedition small ship cruises to the Tauck Earth Journeys portfolio featuring customized BBC Earth enhancements, such as having BBC Earth experts on board select cruise departures and Tauck director training and certification by BBC Earth filmmakers and historians. Tauck Earth Journeys currently feature on-tour film vignettes custom-made by BBC Earth natural history experts, which Tauck guests view during their travels. For more information, call (800) 468-2825 or visit tauck.com.
