Ultra-luxury line Silversea is celebrating the maiden voyage of its latest gem, Silver Nova. The 12th ship for the brand and the first to launch this year for Royal Caribbean Group, Silver Nova sailed from Venice today on a 7-day roundtrip with stops in Piran, Slovenia; Zadar, Dubrovnik, Split, and Rovinj in Croatia; and Kotor, Montenegro.

“Silver Nova revolutionizes ultra-luxury cruising and sets the new category standard,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, in a press statement. “From her innovative horizontal design to her emphasis on sustainable operations, Silver Nova speaks to Royal Caribbean Group’s commitment to deliver the world’s best vacations, responsibly.”

It was incredibly emotional to welcome guests aboard Silver Nova ahead of her maiden voyage,” said Barbara Muckermann, president of Silversea Cruises, in a press statement. “Benefiting from an innovative asymmetrical design, she immerses guests into the destination at every turn—a strong expression of our brand mission. As one of the most spacious ships at sea, and with the broadest array of bars, lounges, and restaurants in ultra-luxury cruise travel, Silver Nova elevates the experience for our guests like never before.”

Silversea’s Silver Nova Takes Luxury to New Heights

With a new design that places an emphasis on openness and the extraordinary use of glass, Silversea’s newest ship brings the outside in with its extensive use of glass, making the most of the views. The pool deck in this vessel overlooks the water on the starboard side, and the ship boasts two new outdoor venues, the Dusk Bar and the Marquee.

The space-to-guest ratio on Silver Nova is the highest of the Silversea fleet, and it also has one of the most personalized levels of service at sea, with a crew-to-guest ratio of 1:1.3, plus butler service for every suite. The ship has 13 suite categories—among the most spacious of any ship—all with a private veranda and can welcome up to 728 guests. The largest of these is the 1,324 sqft Otium Suite, which boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and a huge balcony with its own jetted pool.

Silver Nova also offers your clients a variety of bars, restaurants and lounges that exceeds that of other ultra-luxury ships; a Roman-inspired onboard wellness program, Otium; and an innovative culinary program, Sea and Land Taste (S.A.L.T.), which blends culinary experiences with shore excursions, food lectures, hands-on cooking lessons and more.

Upon her return from her Adriatic adventure, Silver Nova will finish out the summer in the Med before redeploying to the Caribbean and South America in November. Then, in Jan. 2024, it will depart on its 71-day Grand Voyage South America, taking lucky guests to 38 destinations in 18 countries.

Of note: Silver Nova’s sister ship, Silver Ray, is scheduled to launch in Summer 2024.
