Starting this month, Finnair will offer direct flights between Helsinki and Miami.

The seasonal flight will operate from Dec. 16 through March 21, 2015 on an Airbus A340 with Business and Economy classes. Flights will leave Helsinki Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:55 a.m. and arrive in Miami at 2:05 p.m., with a duration time of 11 hours. Flights from Miami to Helsinki, meanwhile, will be under 10 hours and depart Miami at 4 p.m. arriving in Helsinki at 8:50 a.m. the following day. Flights will increase to three times per week with Saturday service starting Jan. 3, 2015.

“Services to Miami with codeshare partners have always been popular, and the time is now right to offer a direct nonstop route in the winter season in addition to these services,” says Finnair CEO Pekka Vauramo. “Finns love Miami and southern Florida and there is a sizeable Finnish expatriate community in the region. At the same time, this new direct route also gives us the opportunity to develop Finland and Lapland as exotic winter tourism destinations for Americans.”

The flight will be part of oneworld alliance. For more information, visit finnair.com.
