Delta Air Lines is adding the Philippines to its global network with the launch of nonstop service between Los Angeles (LAX) and Manila (MNL).
Beginning March 28, 2027, Delta will become the only U.S. carrier to offer nonstop service between Los Angeles and Manila. The route will operate aboard the airline’s Airbus A350-900 and further expands Delta’s growing Asia-Pacific network from its Los Angeles hub.
“Customers traveling through Los Angeles continue to benefit from Delta’s investments in LAX, including an expanding Asia-Pacific network and the opening of our second Delta One Lounge,” said Jeff Arinder, Delta’s VP of Network Planning, in a media statement. “The addition of Manila builds on the world-class travel experience our customers have come to expect from Delta while strengthening our position as LAX’s leading global carrier and premier West Coast hub.”
Expanded Access to Southeast Asia
Through the airlines’ joint venture with Korean Air, travelers will continue to have the option of connecting through Seoul Incheon, where Korean Air operates multiple daily flights to Manila. The new nonstop service provides additional flexibility for travelers choosing between a direct flight from Los Angeles or a connecting itinerary through South Korea.
“This daily service gives our guests another direct link to family and culture in the Philippines and reflects the strength of our partnership with Delta in delivering world-class service to one of Southern California’s most deeply connected international markets,” said Doug Webster, Chief Operations and Maintenance Officer, Los Angeles World Airports, in a media statement.
The announcement continues Delta’s recent international expansion from Los Angeles. Over the past year, the airline has added service to Hong Kong and Melbourne, resumed flights to Shanghai and announced new routes to Vancouver, Newark and now Manila, while also increasing service to destinations across Florida.
