Saint Lucia will have a hotter-than-ever summer of 2024 with increased capacity and up to two daily flights between MIA and UVF from American Airlines.

“The introduction of additional services aligns seamlessly with our ongoing initiatives to tap into the expanding U.S. market and enhance airlift to the destination. American Airlines’ decision underscores their confidence in Saint Lucia and their unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding service to our valued visitors,” remarked Lorine Charles-St. Jules, CEO of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, in a press statement.

Saint Lucia Getting up to Four Peak-Day Flights

The airline plans to start a second daily flight from Miami International Airport to Hewanorra International Airport from June 5 to Sept. 3, 2024. This indicates the airline’s continued partnership with the Caribbean island. American Airlines will also be upgrading the aircraft on the MIA-UVF from a B-737 (172 seats) to an A-321 (190 seats), increasing capacity. The Philadelphia (PHL) to UVF route will also be getting an upgrade from an A-319 (128 seats) to an A-321 (190 seats), effective mid-February to mid-March 2024. The expanded capacity and additional daily leg complement existing services from Charlotte (CLT) and Philadelphia (PHL) to UVF.
