Aztec Airways has officially launched new daily nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale and Marsh Harbour, Abaco. The route, which began service this month, operates from Aztec’s private terminal at Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport (FLL) directly to Leonard M. Thompson International Airport (MHH) in Abaco.

For travel advisors, the addition presents a new and highly accessible airlift option to a sought-after “Out Island” destination. Abaco offers clients a relaxed and authentic Bahamian experience with fishing, island hopping, marinas and boutique resorts.

A Private Airline Experience to the Bahamas

Passengers on Aztec Airways enjoy an expedited, private-terminal experience that includes complimentary parking, bypassing TSA lines, swift check-in and boarding in under a minute.

“We are delighted by Aztec Airways’ decision to expand their service, offering daily flights between Fort Lauderdale and Abaco,” said the Hon. Chester Cooper, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation, in a press statement. “This direct, consistent service will not only streamline travel for our guests but also serve as a powerful catalyst for our local economy, fostering more tourism and investment opportunities in Abaco. We warmly welcome this enhanced partnership, which truly elevates the traveler experience.”

Flights will operate daily, supporting ongoing efforts by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation to enhance access to the Out Islands. The launch complements the Ministry’s broader campaign, “It’s not one island, it’s a lifetime of them,” which encourages visitors to explore the diversity of the 16 major islands and the numerous cays that comprise the archipelago.

“Our latest campaign proudly declares, ‘It’s not one island, it’s a lifetime of them,’ a message designed to inspire visitors to fully embrace the unparalleled diversity of experiences The Bahamas offers,” stated Latia Duncombe, Director General of The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments and Aviation, in a press statement. “Aztec Airways’ expanded service will now enable even more travelers to discover the unique beauty of The Abacos, including its world-renowned fishing and exceptional boating opportunities, making it easier than ever to begin that lifetime of Bahamian adventures.”
