Silversea is adding three new all-inclusive Antarctica Bridge voyages to its 2023-2024 season aboard ice-class vessel Silver Cloud. In a press statement, the company cited “exceptional demand” as the catalyst for introducing the new itineraries that saves travelers’ time by flying over the Drake Passage and avoiding its notoriously choppy waters.
“Our pioneering Antarctica Bridge option is tremendously popular with time-conscious travelers who prefer to experience the White Continent without crossing the Drake Passage,” said Roberto Martinoli, Silversea’s president and CEO.
New to the 2023-2024 polar itineraries are two, 5-day voyages and a 6-day journey. The 5-day round-trip voyage from King George Island, departs on Feb. 2, 2024 and Feb. 7, 2024, traveling to the Antarctic Sound, Antarctic Peninsula and Shetland Islands, where guests can marvel at cathedral-sized icebergs, leopard seals and colonies of Adelie, Chinstrap and Gentoo penguins. Shore excursions include a tour by Zodiac, kayaking or hiking. Prices start at $13,900.
The 6-day round-trip voyage from King George Island, from Feb.12-18, 2024, gives travelers an extra day to explore the Antarctic Peninsula. Prices start at $16,700.
The all-inclusive voyages include private transfers from one’s home to the domestic airport and back again, roundtrip economy-class flights to Santiago (upgrades to business class from $1799 each way), pre- and post-hotel stays in Santiago, charter or group flights from Santiago to Puntas Arenas and back and business-class flights from Puntas Arenas to King George and back. Onboard, all food and beverages, butler service, shore excursions and expedition gear are included in the voyage price.
