Celebrity Cruises has launched Xcel ‘Dream Makers’ inviting travelers to help shape their ultimate cruise experience on Celebrity Xcel, the newest addition to its Edge Series. Set to debut in Nov. 2025, Celebrity Xcel will incorporate guest-driven innovations in dining, entertainment and design.
Participation Required
Dream Makers will provide input on key aspects of Celebrity Xcel’s offerings through online polls and exclusive in-person events. Participants can influence the ship’s interior design elements and culinary offerings.
- Interior Design: Selecting textiles, managing design elements and curating service experiences.
- Culinary Experiences: Choosing signature dishes, beverages, table settings and dining concepts.
- Entertainment: Recommending headline shows, curating costumes and props and selecting music playlists.
According to Michael Scheiner, Chief Marketing and Product Officer of Celebrity Cruises, the initiative allows guests to take an active role in shaping their ideal vacation. “We want to ensure our guests love our products and experiences, so involving them in the process to perfect Celebrity Xcel was a great way to achieve this,” he said in a press statement.
Celebrity Xcel recently completed a key construction phase, floating out of dry dock in France. This milestone marks the completion of the ship’s exterior as it progresses toward its 2025 launch. Additionally, the ship will be equipped with its first tri-fuel capable engine, supporting the company’s long-term sustainability goals, including net-zero emissions by 2050.
In addition, Royal Caribbean Group has signed a deal for a sixth Edge-class ship, set for delivery in 2028. A sister to the Celebrity Xcel, the new ship will also be methanol-capable.
Selling Points for Advisors
Celebrity Xcel will sail its inaugural season from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, offering 7-night Caribbean itineraries featuring destinations such as the Bahamas, Mexico and the Cayman Islands. In Summer 2026, the ship will reposition to Europe for 7- to 11-night Mediterranean sailings from Barcelona and Athens, including overnight stays in Madeira, Portugal.
