Natural Habitat Adventures has launched a new 11-day wildlife expedition—Southern Africa Safari Cruise—to explore Zimbabwe’s largest lake and national parks on a 4×4 vehicle, on foot, and on a private cruise.

Travelers will discover Zimbabwe’s secluded floodplains, sandveld and riverbanks, which are a haven for families of elephant, buffalo, lion and leopard, but far from the usual safari circuit. The itinerary combines a visit to Victoria Falls and classic game drives in four national parks with guided bush walks and a 3-night cruise on Lake Kariba aboard the new African Dream riverboat. Guests will embark on sunrise game drives in Hwange National Park, where they can spot cheetah, wildebeest and African wild dogs within the 5,600 sq. miles of land. Evenings can be spent at Davison’s Camp, one of the few private camps within the park.

On board the 16-guest African Dream, guests will sail along the shores of Lake Kariba in air-conditioned comfort, dine on fresh-caught sea bream, and observe hippo, crocodile, and 350 bird species from the upper sundeck. When back on land, they’ll explore the riverine Mana Pools National Park on foot with a naturalist Expedition Leader, who knows the best grazing spots to witness herds of zebra, waterbuck, and kudu.

Departures for this new tour begin in May 2020, with rates starting at $13,995 ppl dbl, and single supplement of $4,595. The rate includes all activities and accommodations, Natural Habitat naturalist Expedition Leaders and local guides, airport transfers, and taxes, plus entrance, permit, and service fees, as well as most meals and gratuities.
