See Bhutan’s Himalayan landscapes, Buddhist heritage, and deeply rooted traditions on a 9-day tour departing April 16, 2027. Priced at $1,998 per agent, the program combines sightseeing, cultural experiences and moderate outdoor activities across the Kingdom of Bhutan.
The itinerary is designed to give advisors a deeper understanding of how to sell the destination—from the iconic hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery to visits to ancient dzongs and monasteries, royal heritage sites and local communities. Participants will also have the opportunity to experience the seasonal Ura Yakchoe festival, adding a cultural component that goes beyond Bhutan’s better-known landmarks.
From Paro to Bumthang
One practical advantage of the itinerary is an internal flight from Paro to Bumthang, letting participants spend less time on Bhutan’s winding mountain roads and more time exploring the country. On the ground, the FAM includes opportunities to hike mountain trails, share a meal with a traditional farm family and visit a local brewery.
Optional hotel inspections are also incorporated into the program, giving advisors the chance to see accommodations firsthand and gather information they can use when matching Bhutan properties to different types of clients.
The itinerary covers eight nights in three-star hotels, with three meals daily, private transportation and an English-speaking certified local guide.
Sightseeing admission fees are included, along with Bhutan’s $40 visa fee, the $100-per-day Sustainable Tourism Development Fee and the Paro-Bumthang internal flight.
Know Before You Go
This is an active FAM, and participants should be comfortable with moderate hiking, stairs and uneven terrain. The itinerary also involves winding mountain roads and travel at altitude, making appropriate footwear and preparation important.
The $1,998 rate does not include international or regional airfare, drinks, tips, laundry, phone and internet expenses, optional activities or costs associated with unforeseen circumstances. A companion can join for an additional $150, while a private room is available for a $320 supplement.
Agents must be actively engaged in the travel industry, selling land or sea tours and holding recognized industry affiliations.
